#24 a difference between LINE INPUT & INPUT LINE?

Historicall these are two commands. The pedigree needs to be chased. The docs say they do the same thing. I see at least two different parsing routines.

Questions:

  • are the two routine basically the same.
  • can they be merged for space savings?
  • is there really some difference that needs to be reflected in the docs?
